What a year in Kindergarten!

Aaron is an awesome reader and speller. Since February they have been having to write in a Journal and Mrs. Grischow doesn't want you to help them spell anything.  But holy smokes can Aaron spell.  He can spell pretty much anything.  It is cute to watch him write something out and then he realizes that he didn't spell it right, so he will put in the right letters to fix the spelling without any help.

We are renting a garden plot from Arlington Heights Park district this year.  It will be really interesting to see what will grow in our garden this summer.

Aaron has had a girlfriend throughout this year at EDP named Alexandra.  Yesterday she gave him three dandelions.

Living here at Brandenberry has been nothing but wonderful for our family.  It is so big and so nice.  We love it here.

Aaron has had issues with sitting still and not being aware of personal space.  They are evaluating him right now.  He is just a happy child who is very excitable.  I love my baby!

Bucks games.

Jason and I went to Casino Night for fundraising at Aaron's school. It was held at Old Orchard Country Club.

What a week!

Started with going to Kindergarten orientation and learning that Aaron will not have music class in Kindergarten!  Wow!  I was pretty flustered by this, so I spent a few hours searching for other outlets to expose him to music.  I found a music school in Des Plaines, but then I came across a neat sounding summer camp called Kaleidoscope kids at Camelot Park.  It starts June 11th and goes til August 3rd and meets Mon-Weds-Fridays from 1-4 pm.  For 5-6 year olds.  Also learned that they now have lock down drills at school, I guess it is the sign of the times.  Today Aaron had his last day of pre-K and had to say goodbye to Mrs. Chamberlain and Mrs. Grande and Campbell.  I wonder if Aaron will see any of his peers in Pre-K in high school.  Summer is about to start!  Our pool opens tomorrow!!
Games, crafts, songs, outdoor play, and various preschool activities make up this summer camp which is held indoors and out. Children learn to play with each other in a group situation and should wear play clothes.  Snack time has been added back to this program due to high demand.  A drink is provided daily.  All children are required to be toilet trained by the start of the program. Pull-ups are not acceptable.
 Swimming
  • Three-six year olds swim only in the wading pools.
Aaron really has learned alot in Pre-K at the beginning of the school year.  He couldn't use scissors and didn't even know how to write his name.  Now he can basically write anything you ask him to as long as you tell him the letters!

Kindergarten!

Signed up our baby for Kindergarten last week! Can't believe how fast the time flies! Before I know it he will be graduating from high school.

He finally learned how to ride his big wheel this month. We have had an unseasonably warm winter with temperatures usually around 40ish. It has been nice to get out and enjoy our new home and land around it. Today we went to the park and he picked up some treasures (sticks, pinecones and needles) and put them on the back of his bike and peddled home with them. We glued them on a paper and made a face.

He really is into They Might Be Giants Here come the 1,2,3's and Jake and the Neverland Pirates right now. It is cute!

He has gotten really good with scissors since school started.

Preschool!

Aaron started preschool last week and he is just blowing me away! Last night he was playing with my iPhone notes and he spelled, "we got arae new ho..." and then asked me how to spell house. Last night when I was reading stories to him he was asking me why do some words have big letters and I was trying to explain to him that the first word at the beginning of sentences has a capital letter. But this book was weird and was just capitalising whatever it felt like.

Last week he wrote his name for the first time, and now he can write his name on his own! It is quite awesome. When he was eating lunch with Nana and grandpa he wrote Glee without any help. I can't believe how much he is just exploding with his learning in the past week. He has been alot better at listening and following directions too :).

Aaron is so fun to hang out with! Who knew that he would get more and more fun as he grows up! Just tonight he went to bed at 9 pm because we were having too much fun! When I came home we made french bread pizzas and green beans. Then we watched the American Idol elimination show and Aaron recorded himself singing ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with the red microphone on my computer. During Itsy Bitsy Spider and Row, Row Your Boat we had a duet. Aaron picked out all the songs we were to sing of course. Then we blew bubbles and some of his chocolate rabbit from the Easter Bunny. (Easter was fun! ...the Professor under the sink

Aaron is eating pineapple bits for the first time in a long time and he said,"Yum, they taste like Disney World."

Pink Panther

Felix the Cat

Aaron really likes picking out a CD to listen to in the red car. He told Jason he wants to get Arba....Jason said what is that...can you spell it....and Aaron said ABBA. LOL!

Literally!

Aaron still is growing like a weed....

But a few cute things he did.

Last night I was teaching Aaron how to catch a ball and I told him you have to keep your eye on the ball and he put the ball up to his eye ;). I forgot how literal kids are!

He was eating an apple and he got to the seed part and he said, there is a raisin in my apple!

On Sunday we planted our first attempt ever at a vegetable garden. Already on the 5th day Spinach, green beans, pea pods, beefsteak tomatoes and herbs are sprouting. The only thing left to sprout is green peppers and cherry tomatoes. Aaron said the dirt turned into leaves.

My little Reading Coloring Machine!

The past 3 nights Aaron has been reading books out loud before he goes to sleep. This evening I told him that the books with the E (easy) on it he can read. I told him the next time we go to the library we will have to get some more books with E's on them. He read Freight Train last night and the only word that tripped him up was Trestles and tonight he read two books, I Love Planes and The Carrot Seed. After each book he read he gave himself a sticker.

Today was a color fest. Daddy put Aaron down for his nap, and little did Daddy know but Aaron had a blue marker in his hand. After about 20 minutes Daddy went to check on Aaron to see if he was sleeping. He definitley was not sleeping, he had been frantically coloring everything he could see, the couch, the fishy aquarium on his bed, the blanket, and himself from head to toe. Daddy sent me a picture of the aftermath when I was working. I guess every kid has to have their moment. I remember when my younger sister colored herself with markers from head to toe when she was 3 as well.

Aaron also had an obsession with the song Skip to my Lou today. Too stinking cute! He was trying to spell Skip on the computer to look up videos on YouTube and he kept spelling it Sip.
