Time, Shadows and Reading

Aaron is really starting to be able to tell time. Jason sent me this email this week.

It was cute we were playing Legos, he saw the clock at 11:25 and Aaron said "Dada, penutbutter and jelly and Dora and Boots!" He knew it was about time for lunch and Dora to be on! I asked him why now, and he point at the clock and said "Dora and Boots!" That kid amazes me every day, as the only time I teach him about clocks is when we're in bed, I didn't teach him the relationship between time and when shows are on/when we eat (it's been 11:30 for a while now, he's been getting hungrier earlier).

I even asked him earlier in the week when it was 8pm to tell me what time it is, he turned to me and said 8 o'clock.

Every week at Grandma's house Aaron has been freaking out when there is a sunny day. Grandma lives on a busy road so the light from the cars driving by shines on her walls and he freaks out! Poor lil kid. Today he had to stay in the bedroom the whole time because he was scared to go out in the living room.

He has been sick with a fever the past couple of days. On the first day his temp was over 103 so we took him to the doctors office. While we were there we were pointing out words and asking him to tell us what they say. He was able to read the note on the scale that said Please Do Not Let Children Play on the Scale. He read Please Do Not and Play. Then we asked him to tell us what Children says (Obviously we pointed to it) and he said Chhhh.... Chhhh......en Chicken! LOL! Well at least he is sounding things out! I would say that is pretty impressive for someone that is not even 3. Gotta love him!
